Item: Heavyweight Woolrich wool plaid work jacket in classic red and black check, with twin chest pockets, button front and substantial flannel-style lining. Broad collar, straight body and dense wool cloth give it real presence and warmth. This is a proper cold-weather work jacket, not a lightweight shirt-jac.

Era: 1950s. The cut, cloth weight and construction place this firmly in Woolrich’s post-war golden period, before later streamlining and lighter materials.

Brand: Woolrich. One of the defining American outdoor and workwear manufacturers, particularly respected for their mid-century wool jackets made for logging, hunting and winter labour.

Condition: Very good vintage condition. Honest, even wear throughout that adds character, with strong colour retention and no structural issues. Exactly the kind of wear buyers want to see on a genuine 1950s Woolrich.

Provenance Note: 1950s Woolrich wool jackets are increasingly hard to find in this weight and condition. This is a textbook example of mid-century American workwear — functional, durable and visually iconic — and a strong archive-grade piece that still wears exceptionally well today.
