The construction is confident and assured, with the openwork chest stripe adding a subtle structural detail that breaks up the horizontal banding without overcomplicating it. Pieces knitted to this standard in the 1960s, using yarn of this quality, are genuinely uncommon. The simplicity of the design lets the material do the work, and the material is very good.
