A beautifully made 1970s wool shacket by Forty Below, cut in a classic workwear silhouette with a structured collar, chest pockets and sturdy button front. Heavyweight brushed wool in a rich green, mustard and brown plaid, designed to be worn as a true outer layer while retaining the ease of a shirt. A perfect balance between jacket and flannel.

Very good vintage condition. Strong, even colour throughout with the wool remaining thick, soft and well structured. Light, honest wear consistent with age, with no thinning, damage or repairs. Exactly the sort of natural character that makes vintage wool so desirable.

Forty Below specialised in serious cold-weather garments, and their wool pieces from the 1970s are among the best examples of American-made outerwear of the period. These shackets were built to be worn hard, layered easily and relied upon for warmth and durability. Today they stand as highly wearable heritage pieces, combining bold colour, timeless workwear design and construction quality that modern production rarely comes close to matching.
