Item:
Original 1970s polyester top in a bold yellow, navy, white and pale blue striped design, with a sleeveless cut, round neckline and back zip fastening. Fitted through the body with a neat close shape, giving it that clean late-1960s into 1970s line. The horizontal stripe layout gives it a sharp graphic look, while the sleeveless cut keeps it bright and easy for warmer weather. As with good vintage polyester of this era, the fabric was made to hold its colour, shape and structure well, and has a very different feel and purpose to later cheap fast-fashion synthetics.

Good vintage condition with light wear consistent with age and use. Presents well overall from the front, with the colour and stripe pattern remaining strong and clear.

This is a very good example of the brighter, more graphic side of 1970s daywear. The strong stripe pattern and saturated colour combination give it immediate period impact, while the simple fitted cut keeps it wearable and unfussy. It has that cheerful, sporty sort of energy that makes vintage summer pieces so appealing, and works well either on its own or layered under a jacket for a sharper look.
