Item: Levi’s 505 straight-leg jeans in classic black denim, featuring the orange tab, zip fly, copper rivets and leather waist patch. A strong, clean silhouette with a slightly roomier fit than the 501 and a deep, even black tone.

Era: Late 1980s to early 1990s.

Brand: Levi’s Strauss & Co. – 505. Made in Mexico of USA components.

Condition: Very good vintage condition. The denim remains structurally excellent with light, even wear consistent with age. No holes, no thinning, and no weaknesses to seams or stress points. The black colour still holds well, with natural softening that adds character rather than detracts.

Provenance Note:
These represent the transitional period in Levi’s production when manufacturing shifted internationally while still using American-made fabrics, hardware and patterns. Orange tab 505s from this era retain the quality and build of earlier US production while marking an important moment in denim history. They sit perfectly between vintage authenticity and modern wearability, making them ideal everyday jeans with real heritage behind them.
