Item: Original 1980s Avirex leather flight jacket in brown with heavy military-style patch detailing throughout. Classic aviator shape with a deep pile collar, zip front, flapped front pockets, knitted hem and cuffs, and a strong boxy cut with that proper broad-shouldered flight jacket silhouette. The map-print interior is especially striking and has been left untouched because it is such a characterful original feature.

Condition: Good vintage condition. Leather outer presents beautifully with rich colour, natural grain and honest wear that gives the jacket exactly the right aged look. The interior lining is still present and wearable, but is fragile in places with shredding and age-related deterioration, so it would benefit from restoration in time. We have chosen not to replace it because the original map lining is such a distinctive part of the piece. This is reflected in the price.

Provenance Note: This is the kind of Avirex piece that goes well beyond a standard leather jacket. The patched front, deep aged leather and incredible original map lining give it real visual weight, and even with the interior wear it still has serious collector and style appeal. A hugely characterful 1980s flight jacket with proper presence, and a far more memorable piece than most examples that turn up now.
