1980s | European Workwear | Blue Chore Jacket - L/XL

Sale price£45.00

Description:

Item: European chore jacket in indigo-blue cotton, cut in a classic utilitarian silhouette with button-front closure and traditional pocket layout. The fabric shows extensive surface wear including fading, ingrained staining, and visible repairs to the sleeve, all accumulated through long-term industrial use. The cotton has softened considerably, giving the jacket a relaxed structure and depth that only develops through years of wear.

Era: 1980s

Brand: Unbranded / European workwear

Condition: Well-worn vintage condition with visible paint and oil marks, fading, creasing, and period repair work. Wear is consistent with genuine use and contributes to the jacket’s character. The fabric remains structurally sound, with no issues affecting wearability.

Provenance Note:
This is workwear exactly as it was meant to exist. The softened cloth, ingrained marks, and practical repairs are the result of necessity rather than design, each one extending the life of the garment rather than replacing it. These jackets were worn daily, patched when needed, and kept in service for as long as the fabric allowed. What survives here is the working surface itself — a layered record of labour, repetition, and problem-solving pressed into the cotton. The appeal lies in that honesty, where wear and repair are not flaws but proof of purpose.
