1980s | European Workwear | Blue Chore Jacket - M

Sale price£45.00

Description:

Item: Classic European chore jacket in mid-to-deep indigo cotton, cut with a traditional utilitarian silhouette and practical pocket layout. Button-front construction with simple, functional detailing typical of late-20th-century continental workwear. The surface shows layered wear throughout, including fading, softened creasing, paint traces, and period repairs that speak directly to long-term use rather than decoration.

Era: 1980s

Brand: Unbranded / European workwear

Condition: Well-worn vintage condition with visible signs of genuine industrial use. Paint marks, uneven fading, and reinforced repair work are present across the body and sleeves. The fabric remains structurally sound, with wear adding depth and texture rather than detracting from function.

Provenance Note:
This is the kind of chore jacket that earns its character the hard way. The softened cotton, scattered paint, and utilitarian repairs are the result of repetition and necessity, not styling. Each mark reflects a moment of work, each stitch a practical response to keeping the garment going. These jackets were never meant to be preserved, which is precisely why survivors with intact working surfaces feel so honest. The appeal lies in the accumulation of use — a quiet record of labour worn into the cloth over decades.
