Description:

Item: A button-front knit and suede cardigan jacket by Klover in black, with two broad panels of grey suede running the full length of the front. Ribbed knit body, shoulders and sleeves with a stand collar and ribbed hem. Bronze star-motif snap buttons down the front and zip side pockets. Fully lined. A bold, well-constructed piece that sits somewhere between knitwear and outerwear - practical, warm and with a strong period character.

Provenance Note: Klover Jackets were a specialist producer of leather and knit hybrid outerwear, marketing themselves on soft-feel, lightweight construction at a time when the combination of suede and knitwear was at the height of its popularity in European and American casual dress. The contrast panel format - knit body with leather or suede front - was a signature look of the decade, offering warmth and texture in a format that felt relaxed rather than formal.
