Provenance Note: The hooded knit poncho with llama motif is a product of the South American textile trade that ran strongly through the 1990s and into the 2000s — pieces produced in the Andean tradition, using locally sourced fibre and patterns drawn from a weaving culture that predates Western fashion by centuries. The llama border here is crisp and well-executed, the fringe substantial, and the overall construction solid. These travelled widely through the festival and import markets of the period and have aged well precisely because they were made to be worn hard.
