These thermals were never designed to survive decades in wardrobes. They were workhorse garments, worn hard, washed repeatedly, and discarded once exhausted. Surviving examples from the 1940s are scarce, especially with their construction and fabric integrity still intact. The markings and wear tell a real story of function over fashion, making this a true artifact of wartime utility clothing rather than a decorative reproduction.
