Description:

Item: Knitted cotton coat in a charcoal, oatmeal and red check, with a double-breasted button front, wide notched lapels, matching tie belt, buttoned cuff tabs and full lining. Straight, roomy cut with dropped shoulders.

Era: 1960s

Condition: Very good vintage condition, with light wear consistent with age and use.

Provenance Note: A knitted cotton coat worked in a large check of charcoal and oatmeal with a bright red overcheck cutting through it. The cloth has a chunky, textured surface with real body to it, and the wide notched lapels roll open and sit softly across the shoulders. The double-breasted front closes on dark buttons, and the matching tie belt can be pulled in at the waist or left loose. Buttoned tabs finish the cuffs, and the lining runs the full length. The cut is straight and roomy with dropped shoulders, giving it an easy line over knitwear.
