Description:

Item: Polyester jacket in a burgundy, navy and white windowpane check, with a two-button front, wide rounded lapels, angled welt hip pockets and full lining. Fitted through the body with a shaped waist and set-in sleeves.

Era: 1970s

Condition: Very good vintage condition, with light wear consistent with age and use.

Provenance Note: A checked jacket in burgundy and navy crossed by a fine white grid, the pattern running small and dense across the whole body. Wide rounded lapels roll open at the chest above a two-button front in self-covered buttons, and angled welt pockets sit at the hips. The body is shaped through the front and back seams to draw in at the waist. This is the old style of polyester, woven with a dry, textured handle and a matte surface that holds its shape and keeps its colour without creasing.
