Item: A 1970s brown leather blazer by House of Sears. Wide notched lapel, two button front, chest welt pocket and two lower flap pockets. A relaxed, generously cut single-breasted blazer with good natural patina to the leather and a beautifully soft drape. One of the most wearable silhouettes of the decade, done here in a warm mid-brown with real depth of colour.

Provenance Note: Sears were one of the great American retail institutions, and their House of Sears leather line represented the brand at its most aspirational. During the 1970s, Sears invested heavily in quality leather outerwear for the American mass market, producing pieces that have aged far better than their origins might suggest. The leather blazer was a cornerstone of the decade's casual dressing, equally at home over a rollneck or an open-collar shirt, and examples in this condition with good natural patina are increasingly hard to come by.
