Description:

Item: 1970s Italian-made sheepskin coat constructed in deep chocolate-brown suede with a dense, jet-black sheepskin interior. Single-breasted front with a softly structured notched collar, fully faced in fleece for warmth and contrast. Clean, tailored panel construction through the body and sleeves gives this piece a slightly sharper silhouette than heavier rural examples, while still retaining proper winter weight and insulation. Finished with simple button fastening and understated detailing throughout.

Condition: Very good vintage condition. The suede remains supple with a rich, even patina and no signs of dryness or cracking. The sheepskin lining is thick, plush, and intact, retaining excellent loft. Light surface variation is consistent with age and wear and adds depth rather than detracting.

Provenance Note:
Italian-made sheepskin from the 1970s sits in a sweet spot between practicality and refinement. Still cut from full skins and built for warmth, but with a more considered silhouette and finish than utilitarian European counterparts. These pieces wear beautifully over time, softening while holding their shape, and examples in this condition are becoming increasingly scarce.
