Description:

Item: Late 80s–90s European sheepskin coat in warm mid-brown suede with a soft, lighter-toned sheepskin fleece throughout. Single-breasted cut with a generous shawl collar fully faced in fleece, giving a relaxed, comfortable silhouette. Panelled construction through the body and sleeves, with turned-back cuffs and exposed fleece at the hem adding both warmth and visual depth. Slightly lighter in weight than earlier 1970s examples but still properly insulating and built from full skins.

Condition: Good to very good vintage condition. The suede remains soft and pliable with even wear and natural tonal variation from age and use. The sheepskin lining is clean, intact, and retains good loft. Some surface marks and wear are present, consistent with age, and contribute to the coat’s character rather than detract.

Provenance Note:
By the late 80s and 90s, sheepskin coats became slightly more relaxed in cut, favouring comfort and ease over the heavier, more rigid builds of earlier decades. This example sits firmly in that tradition: practical, wearable, and broken in beautifully over time. A dependable cold-weather piece with honest wear and plenty of life left in it.
