Item: A zip-front track top by Adidas in navy, with a bold chevron panel across the shoulders and chest in red and white - the white band edged above and below with fine navy piping, giving the chest panel a layered, graphic quality. Full-length navy zip, two zip hip pockets and ribbed cuffs and hem. The embroidered Adidas trefoil logo sits on the chest in white. Provenance Note: Adidas were at the height of their cultural reach through the 1980s - dressing Olympic athletes, national football teams and the emerging hip-hop scene in equal measure. The chevron panel track top in navy, red and white sits at the heart of the Adidas archive from this period - a format that echoed the national team kits the brand supplied across Europe and carried the trefoil logo at a moment when it meant something on the street as well as the track. One of the most enduringly collectible formats the brand produced.
