Description:

Item: A single-breasted blazer in black with a subtle tonal stripe running through the cloth, cut with wide notch lapels, three-button fastening and flap hip pockets with a breast welt pocket. Four-button cuffs and fully lined in dark brown. Broad-shouldered and generously cut through the body - a solid, versatile piece with the substantial proportions that define the decade.

Provenance Note: The black blazer is one of the great constants of the male wardrobe - worn across every decade of the twentieth century and adaptable to almost any context. In the 1980s it was cut with the wide lapels and generous shoulders of the era, giving it a presence and weight that the slimmer cuts of later decades rarely matched. A tonal stripe lifts it just enough from the plain without compromising its versatility.
