Description:

Item: A button-front leather and knit jacket by C.B.C. in a deep chocolate brown. The body is cut in smooth leather with a collarless V-neck, five-button fastening and two patch pockets at the hip. The sleeves are chunky ribbed knit in a matching brown - a clean, unfussy combination that gives the piece real versatility. Fully lined. A well-made, practical jacket with a quiet confidence to it.

Provenance Note: The leather and knit jacket was a staple of European casual outerwear through the 1980s - combining the warmth and stretch of knitwear with the structure and durability of leather in a format that worked equally well in town or country. The collarless, clean-fronted version has an almost workwear quality to it, stripped of the usual hardware and decorative detail in favour of straightforward, well-executed construction.
