Description:

Item: A zip-front ski jacket by Piume Sport in navy and red, with bold curved red panels running from the collar down the sides and sleeves, meeting in a diamond motif at the elbow. Full-length zip front, two zip hip pockets and a ribbed red stand collar. Clean, graphic and well-constructed - the curved panelling gives it a dynamic, almost racing-inspired quality that sets it apart from the straightforward colour block jackets of the era.

Provenance Note: Piume Sport were an Italian ski and outdoor wear producer, part of a strong tradition of Italian sportswear manufacturing that flourished through the 1970s and 80s. Italian ski wear of this period was as much about visual impact as technical performance - graphic panelling, bold colour contrasts and considered construction were the hallmarks of the better Italian makers, producing pieces that hold up as some of the most visually interesting sportswear of the decade.
