Description:

Item: A 1980s silk waistcoat printed with a detailed nautical theme, naval badges, anchors, rope knots, sextants, ships' bells and regatta crests, set within a bordered rope design against a blue and cream ground. Button front fastening with a welt pocket at the hip.

Condition: Very good vintage condition, with light wear consistent with age and use.

Provenance Note: The sheer amount of detail worked into this print is genuinely impressive, naval rank badges, sextants, ships' wheels and regatta crests all rendered with real precision rather than a generic nautical motif repeated across the body. The rope border framing each panel gives it a proper sense of composition, and the silk carries the fine linework of the print far better than a heavier fabric would.
