Provenance Note: The pointelle stripe zip cardigan is a very particular product of 1990s knitwear, when fine-gauge decorative knit techniques were being applied to sportier silhouettes and brighter palettes. The combination of a lace-effect knit with a full zip and mock neck gives this an edge over a standard cardigan, sitting somewhere between a lightweight jacket and a dressed-up top. The lilac and magenta palette is distinctly of its era and has come back around with a lot of confidence in recent years.
