Description:

Item: Hooded parka with a wool-lined hood and body, zip and popper front, two flap patch pockets, drawcord waist and hem, and hook-and-loop cuff tabs. Straight, roomy cut with raglan shoulders.

Condition: Very good vintage condition, with light wear consistent with age and use.

Provenance Note: A teal parka from Woolrich Woman, built with a wool blanket check lining in grey, pink and purple that shows at the hood and through the body. The front closes on a zip beneath a placket of stamped metal poppers, and a drawcord runs at the waist with a second at the hem. Two deep flap patch pockets sit at the hips with hand warmer openings set behind them, and hook-and-loop tabs adjust each cuff. The hood is drawcorded at the face. Woolrich has been making outdoor cloth in Pennsylvania since 1830, and this is built to that standard.
