Item: Lightweight down quilted jacket with a stand collar, full-length zip front, two popper-fastened hand pockets and an embroidered sleeve badge. Straight cut with light shaping through the body.

Condition: Good vintage condition, with a tiny tear to the back. Reflected in the price.

Provenance Note: A red Barbour jacket quilted in curved channels that sweep across the body and around the sleeves rather than running square. The stand collar sits high at the neck, and a full-length zip with a moulded ring pull runs down the front. Curved hand pockets are set at the hips, each closed with a single popper, and the Barbour badge is embroidered tonally at the left sleeve. The down fill gives real warmth for very little weight, and the shell packs down small. Barbour has been making outerwear at South Shields since 1894.
